Exploring the Causes of Teachers’ Indiscipline in Public Secondary Schools Gairo District in Morogoro Region, Tanzania

Teachers during the past time were greatly honored, dignified and highly respected by parents in particular society at large. The teacher was as a custodian of knowledge influential inspiring person society. Indiscipline among teachers public secondary schools is major dilemma achievement quality education since students’ academic depends on ethical, committed qualified consolidating school performance accomplishment educational goals. purpose study to explore causes teachers’ indiscipline Public Secondary Schools Gairo district Morogoro region, Tanzania. This conducted using qualitative research approach because it provides information which has deeper insight into phenomenon under relies interpretation view respondents. target population this includes District Teacher Service Department, Chief School Inspector, Heads school; well Students who justifiably provide significant related district. findings revealed that problem towards realization schools. found unethical practices negative impact work engage various misconducts fail commit themselves their duties responsibilities. It disclosed effects included inconsistency teaching, ineffective supervision discipline, misleading students when teaching. detrimental such poor performance, drop out truancy, decline moral standard, hostility enmity between students, denial basic rights education. On basis findings, mainly attributed social, economical, managerial factors including inadequate salaries remuneration, lack professional knowledge, living working environment, influence science technology, infrequent visit officials, management heads, home family background.
